On the other hand, management is more about operational tasks and ensuring that these tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively.

So, what’s the difference between leadership and management? Let’s take a closer look:

Leadership is more future-oriented while management is more present-oriented. Leaders focus on where they want to take their team or organization, while managers focus on ensuring that current operations are running smoothly.

Leadership is about inspiring others while management is about supervising others. Leaders use their charisma and vision to motivate and inspire those around them, while managers use their knowledge and experience to direct and oversee the work of others.

Leadership is more collaborative while management is more hierarchical. Leaders work with their team to achieve common goals, while managers typically have a more hands-off approach and simply give orders that must be followed.

Leaders are innovators while managers are implementers. Leaders come up with new ideas and ways of doing things, while managers take these ideas and turn them into reality.

Leadership is about influencing others while management is about controlling others. Leaders use their persuasion skills to get people on board with their vision, while managers use their authority to make sure that people are following orders.
